Ok, I know what you're thinking, another marketing guru selling a way to make quick money. Well, sorry, that's not the kind of easy money I'm referring to.

Network Marketing has been around for a while. Most of us know someone who has a friend or relative who became involved in off-line network marketing. We listened to their sales pitch with our mind already set on how we were going to say no and the best way to get out of the meeting as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Through out the sales pitch we thought to ourselves, what would drive someone to put this much effort into selling these products? Why would they spend all this time promoting their product to their friends and relatives? Would we ever be able to meet them again and look them in the face wondering if they were going to start into their sales pitch?

All in all, this kind of network marketing seemed rather painful to someone from the outside. Not only was it time consuming, but you needed to be a person with the ability to sell. Most people involved this way did not start out as professional sales people, but they knew they would need to learn these skills in order to succeed.

What our friends understood about network marketing is that the first customers are the hardest. Once these customers started recruiting their own customers things started getting easier. Over time, their income would grow faster. They were sold on the product they were selling and definitely the concept of network marketing. They were persistent and determined not to quit!

I could not help but think could they really be on to something? It seemed impossible, but what if it worked? Our friends did eventually become successful. But I believe it was only because they were determined to make it work. Giving up was not an option for them.

Times have changed and off-line network marketing has turned into on-line network marketing. The concept remains the same:

- Sell someone else's products and make a commission on each product.

- Sell the opportunity to others so they do the same, while making a commission on their sales as well.

The second sale is what makes network marketing most rewarding and leads to RESIDUAL INCOME. This kind of income keeps coming without you yourself having to do the work.

Today, online network marketing has greatly simplified selling other companies' products. Not only do they generally do the selling for you, but THE WORLD IS NOW YOUR PROSPECT!

To become a network marketer all you need is a computer, internet connection and a good product with opportunity that can be sold. POINT AND CLICK IS THE METHOD OF SALES TODAY! Network Marketing or Affiliate Programs?

Cruise the Internet at any time and it is obvious that many individuals are actively seeking to either start a work at home business, or maintain one. The literature available and the number of programs concerning home businesses attest to this fact, simply by the sheer volume of available materials on the Internet.

A home business of one's own is quite attractive to everyone, as many individuals have lost any faith whatsoever in the "corporate identity" of today due to job lay-offs and closings. Businesses no longer offer their employees the stability and benefits that they once did, and this has led to the "Internet Work-At-Home-Business Boom" of today.

Although there are many ways to make money on the Internet, and in a home business, everything from producing your own goods and services to running an online wholesale storefront, a good choice for many "beginners" is either an Affiliate Program or Network Marketing Program (previously called MLM, or Multi-Level Marketing).

Affiliate Programs and Network Marketing Programs are essentially, "turn-key businesses", in that individuals joining the programs are given a business that is already, for the most part, "in place". A product or service is provided, as well as instructions and support, and there may even be marketing materials and a Website given. Methods of payment are usually provided also, and it is quite reasonable that everyone can start a work at home business in quite a short period of time by choosing to join an Affiliate Program or Network Marketing Program. Many have become quite successful with either of these business models, and there are thousands of new members each and every day.

There are differences, though, in these business models, and care should be taken when joining to ensure that the program most closely fits what the person joining is searching for in a work at home business. Here then, are the major differences, to guide anyone in their choice of program model:

In Affiliate Programs there may be one or two income levels, with a standard earning percentage. An Affiliate Program can be somewhat easier to market, as the monetary investment is usually smaller, but there is little, if any chance of residual income (long-term extra cash flow based on multiple earning levels). Affiliate Programs, though, take less maintenance than Network Marketing Programs, and the results can usually be seen sooner, due to their more simplistic nature. Unlike Network Marketing Programs, many Affiliate Programs can be marketed almost entirely online, with very little customer contact.

In Network Marketing Programs, there are many, many levels of income (hence the multi-level idea), leading to more long-term residual income. However, Network Marketing Programs do entail a much larger extent of customer contact, as they require the building of "downlines" to achieve the residual income, and anyone joining must provide support to their downlines almost continually in order to maintain a certain income level. A Network Marketing Company can usually be somewhat harder to start and maintain, but can grow more easily to the level in which an individual member so chooses.

The choice of one business model or another as a work at home business is rather personal and should be well suited to an individual's personal needs and personality. All in all, if you are a real "people person" who desires a great income, and has a lot of determination, then a Network Marketing Program will be a good choice. On the other hand, if you are somewhat shy, would rather have a program that turns around more quickly and easily, and if you prefer to "work alone", than an Affiliate Program is probably the better choice.

Just remember, when choosing any work at home business, consider yourself and your needs well, and you will indeed, make the perfect choice.

Can You Really Make Money While You Sleep Online?

There are many ways to earn money on online businesses, and some are listed below:

1. E-stores. With the power of the Internet, you can now create your web site (or have someone create it for you) and have your own shopping center and sell goods and services to anyone anywhere in the world. You can have a fully automated system that allows your store to operate on its own, 24 hours a day - this means undertaking sales transactions and generating income even in the middle of the night, while you are sleeping!

There are numerous advantages of having an E-store. You are providing your customers with the ability to shop at their own convenience, no matter what time of day. You can also create an opportunity to 'reach out' to your customers through a personalized customer service by asking for their feedback or by setting up an 'online community' for them to communicate with you and the other online shoppers.

The challenge here, however, is to 'steer' potential customers to your store by having them learn about your website. Intense advertising might solve this problem. Another issue that needs to be addressed is determining the kind of products and/or services to sell. Whether they are books, videos, software, or a skill, the answer here is providing customers with a variety of products while knowing the familiar commodities (those that are selling well) at the same time. There are also a number of conservative people who are hesitant to give sensitive information over the web, especially their credit card numbers, but this can be worked out by resolving the security issues.

2. Marketing. Online advertising is also another way of earning money on the Internet. One way to do this is by joining an affiliate program that enables us to sell a company's products and earn income from these sales, or earn commissions by enlisting other people to market these products. It is a great way to form business relationships that may prove to be lucrative.

When planning to join an affiliate program, you have to at least bear take the following into consideration:

Believe in the product. You have to believe a product's sales potential. It would be hard to make a pitch to other people if you yourself would not even want to buy it!

Reasonable pay. Choose a program that will pay you sufficiently and allow you to keep a profit even after deducting your expenses.

No sign-up fee. An affiliate program that charges you a fee or requires you to purchase something first before joining would most likely be an illegitimate one.

This also poses a challenge, specifically on the web site traffic (or the number of visitors to your site). It is important to have a large number of people visiting your web site and to know who they are, because this is what attracts advertisers. One way to do this is to conduct online surveys that requests for the visitor's personal information. A favorable response can be guaranteed using freebies and other incentives.

3. Subscriptions. This can be done by providing customers access to information for a certain fee - be it a daily or weekly copy of a 'newspaper' or a 'magazine', or other documents such as thesis or research papers. While a vast amount of topic can be accessed on the Internet for free (using Search Engines), there are still those that are of value that people would be willing to pay for them. There is also the benefit of reduced business costs, because it is less costly to send information over the Internet than to ship them overseas.

No matter what business you decide to pursue on the Internet, there will always be the great potential of making money easily (with considerably less workload), given the best ideas, the right tools, and the proper attitude to go with it. While it is true that there still remains the risk of encountering a possible scam with all the glorified facts and figures (the 'get-rich-quick' scheme), the important thing to do is to examine each opportunity thoroughly to know if it really works before putting any of your money on to it.
