Amer Fort is an ancient fort located in Amer, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres, located very near to Jaipur, the capital city of the west Indian state of Rajasthan.The Amer Fort, as it stands now, was erected over the remnants of an earlier structure that was built during the reign of Raja Man Singh who was the King of Amer; and was established by Raja Alan Singh Meena who was a ruler belonging to Meenas - a tribe found in Rajasthan, in 967 CE.
