The journey to Sandakphu Trek starts from a New Jalpaiguri railway station in West Bengal. From the station, you must drive towards Mane banjang which is the base camp of Sandakphu Trek. Mane Banjang is the base camp which is located at 7000 feet above sea level which is higher than Darjeeling so you must be prepared for the winter cold. The journey from the station to the base camp can almost take 5 hours. After reaching there you can either take some rest or else explore the place because it is very beautiful high at the top. On the next day, the trekking starts from Mane Banjang to Tumling which is 12 km. On the following day you will be hiking to Gairi Bass which is just 6 km. The next day you will be trekking to Kalipokri which is again 6 km away. And this Kalipokri is about 10400 feet above sea level. And on the next day, things get changed because you will be trekking to the highest peak that is Sandakphu hill. On the sixth day, it will be a long journey to follow which takes about 21 km. The beauty which you see at the top can never be replaced with anything else but only the trek.
